There are many exciting opportunities that exist for students who would like to live, work, and study abroad. One such option is teaching English to students in China. You can earn money and teach students in your very own classroom. Understanding more on study business in China will help you get into your desired profession.

The basic requirements for entering into a TESL (Teach English as a Second Language) program in China requires you to be a native English speaker, to have your Bachelor's degree completed if you are planning on teaching during the regular school year, and be in the age range of 20 to 60 years old. If you are interested in teaching for the summer, you do not need to have your Bachelor's degree finished. If you are still in college, you can earn valuable experience by teaching for the summer months as an intern. It is a great resume builder and a great way to travel and see the diverse areas of China.

Besides being a great experience, there are many more benefits that await you when taking part in a TESL program in China. Most teaching institutes in China will pay for your round-trip airfare, as long as you commit and fulfill a one year assignment in the same school in China. You can also expect to receive free housing with a host family in the city in which you are teaching. Most times, free Chinese lessons are offered to you in order to help you communicate with your students and others while in China. Also, for those who are choosing to teach after they have completed their Bachelor's degree, you have the option to defer your student loans. As a TESL teacher in China, you can expect a salary that is comparable to making $4,000 to $6,500 per month in the United States. Check into studying abroad to acquire marketable skills.

In order to participate in a TESL program in China, there are fees that need to be paid. Most program fees fall under $2,000, which you will gain back during your first month teaching. This is a small fee compared to the experience you gain and the money you will earn.

A typical work week in China will be 40 hours, with approximately 20 hours spent teaching. The typical class size is around 25 students, but depending on the needs of your school, your class size can and may be considerably larger or smaller and sometimes involve working with students individually.

China has a rich cultural history and wonderful scenic areas. While you teach and work on your TESL, you will have plenty of opportunities to sight see and explore all different parts of China. Many of the host schools provide planned trips to different cultural and historical sites, which are a great way to connect further with the students you work with. Having the opportunity to explore different areas of China will expand your knowledge of the country and be a great learning and life experience.

There are a number of different areas of China that need teachers of English. When you enroll in a program, you can expect to be sent where you are needed most; this can include highly populated areas as well as more rural regions.
